Beach Park West Apartments
posted on Monday, January 11th, 2010 at 7:12 pmVirginia Beach, VA
GMF+ provided the site planning and architectural design for a ten-unit apartment project for the special-needs tenants of the Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation. This project received the Virginia Governor’s Housing award in 2010 for BEST AFFORDABLE HOUSING, ENERGY CONSERVATION EFFORT. Care was taken to move the parking away from the main street and to the back of the site in order to create a sense of community for the residents. The site design required a zoning variance and conditional use permit. This project was funded by various housing and block grants as well as adhering to VHDA design standards and EarthCraft (green built) certification.
