The O'Connel Cottage is a small 3-bedroom "Katrina" style home designed for a working class household in Louisiana who were rendered homeless in the wake of the 2005 hurricane that devastated New Orleans and the surrounding areas. Mary Anne Cusato and other architects have promoted such designs as ‘The New Economy Home’. Our version is especially suited for a very shallow lot depth. Our Katrina Cottage has a similar footprint but the staircase was relocated allowing for a more open floor plan.
